With this treatment, doctors place man-made tooth roots to support new tooth-shaped crowns. If you need full mouth dental reconstruction, your doctor may recommend attaching a full arch of teeth to the implants instead of individual crowns. For some patients, we can use this “full arch” technique with as few as four implants.

Both single crown and full arch approaches can restore the function and appearance of your teeth. Implants also have the benefit of preventing bone resorption: the erosion of bone that can create large gaps in the area of missing teeth. If you have already lost a significant amount of bone, our practice can use bone grafting to reverse these effects.

Crowns, Bridges, and Porcelain Veneers

Some of the patients we treat in our dental office who require full mouth dental reconstruction have a combination of concerns. They may have missing teeth, damaged teeth, and a few interspersed teeth that are still in good condition. In response, we may recommend a collection of aesthetic treatments:

• Dental crowns are caps that go over broken or damaged teeth to restore their look, feel, and function.
• Bridges replace missing teeth with a set of connected crowns. The crowns on the ends attach to healthy teeth or implants and “bridge” the gap between them with a false tooth.
• If only the front surface of a tooth is damaged or if the tooth is misaligned or discolored, a porcelain veneer may be a good option. This man-made shell replaces the front of your tooth, matching the color and appearance of the adjacent teeth.

Gum Grafting. If you notice that some of your teeth appear longer than others, you may be experiencing gum recession. Over time, this condition can cause damage to your teeth and potentially lead to tooth loss. A gum grafting procedure can cover the exposed tooth root and restore the aesthetics of your smile.
